Reflection
This semester we have read Macbeth and Wuthering Heights, as well as an independent novel for which I chose Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men. We've also analyzed 2 short stories, and watched Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of The Sith. The overall theme was Human Rights.
I'm really happy with my choice of independent novel, I feel it was perfect for the assignment, allowing me to do each piece easily. I also enjoyed both short stories by Roald Dahl, The Way Up to Heaven and Quitter's Inc. I did not however enjoy reading Macbeth or Wuthering Heights although I did enjoy the political tyrant seminar assignment. Everything we did this semester was digital, meaning I did not use a single piece of paper. I really liked this aspect of the course, as I found it was easier to remain organized, and on-top of assignments. The google classroom was a bonus because it allowed me to work through multiple assignments simultaneously. Overall, I think in the current time period it makes sense for every English course to operate this way, and I'm really happy that I was able to experience this type of course two years in a row. If I could go back and do the course again, I would try harder to hand in everything on time, to avoid the build up of assignments at the end of the semester! |
